Colorado's mountain towns are known for their beautiful summers with some western flair thrown in and plenty of outdoor activities and action-packed July 4th events complete with small-town parades, music, and rodeos.
Since 1927, Steamboat Springs, Colorado has celebrated Independence Day in true Western fashion. This is a special holiday and Steamboat does it right with an iconic hometown parade. Events include the Pro Rodeo Series at the Brent Romick Arena, the Ski Jumping Extravaganza at Howelsen Hill, the First Friday Artwalk in Downtown Steamboat, and the Saturday Farmers Market.
Summer in Breckenridge kicks off with with the annual Independence Day Celebration. Although fire restrictions ban the setting off of public or private fireworks in Breck, the town makes up for it with plenty of other festivities. The day starts with a 10K fun run. Then new this year, the Strider Bike Race for kids ages 1-6 kicks off the Firecracker 50 and Main Street parade. Then the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) tops off the day with a Fourth of July Spectacular.
Celebrate the 4th of July in Vail with the annual tradition of Vail America Days. Enjoy the region's largest parade that starts at Golden Peak and makes its way to Lionshead. There is a lineup of family entertainment throughout the day all around the village, then the annual Fourth of July Patriotic Concert at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Then cap off the day with a spectacular fireworks show (conditions permitting).

Soak up the refreshing mountain air with the Beaver Creek Independence Day Celebration! There will be live music, artist meet & greets, Stars, Stripes & Slides kid’s area, youth entertainment stage in the village, food trucks, fireworks, and hot air balloon glow.
Under the lights at the Brent Romick Arena, clouds of dirt and cries of victory tell the gripping story of the West with a time-honored and award-winning Steamboat tradition. The Steamboat Pro Rodeo Series takes place every Friday and Saturday night from July through August in Downtown Steamboat Springs. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m. with the exception of the Fourth of July performance which begins at 6:30 p.m.
