If you’ve never been before, it’s quite the party, as Main Street is closed to vehicle traffic and booths are set up for locals and visitors to enjoy food, music, and beer surrounded by the historic Victorian setting of downtown Breckenridge.
Summer is a classic time for families to vacation in the mountains, but the mountain communities have worked hard to create and host spectacular events that include mountain races, gourmet foods and wines, and a film festival that was named one of the Top 20 Film Festivals in the country.

Operating year round as the Summit Film Society, a dedicated group of film lovers created a weekend full of unique film experiences, almost 100 of them this year! An article in the Summit Daily News stated that the 2017 film fest:
The festival hopes to promote learning and open discussion during the weekend, and more importantly, be a catalyst for continued conversation and collaboration. "It's not high-profile like most film festivals. The artists get together and share ideas and discuss issues," said Kujawski. "It's really an opportunity for networking and connecting with their audience."
